Money is the root of all evil…:
New digital design I’ve been working on sporadically for a little while. It’s one of the pieces I’ll be putting in for the Sho collective’s first exhibition :)
What do you think? Anything that can be edited or added? I’m open to suggestions on it, and if people like it, I may get some prints done, so give us your thoughts!
Cheers yo,

My favourite Doomtree song of the minute. I know I’m a bit late to the party, but these guys seriously know their stuff…
Other DTR stuff to check out: “Dots and Dashes” and “Kid Gloves”, the latter being the inspiration for Gav(Jamfactory)’s illy poster.

Tee of the Week: 26/11/09 - Missing...
I decided to try doing a “Tee of the Week” series, to encourage myself to blog more. I’m always coming across neat shirt designs and well, this seemed like a good a way as any to use the copious amount of links I send myself (from work, naturally) to “look at later”, as it were but never really get around to doing.

This week’s tee is a Threadless beauty: it’s entitled “Missing”, and is designed by Julian Glander (aka Secretly Robot). Here’s a bit of the story behind the idea:
“My design MISSING started out as an actual flyer that I put up around my dorm when my bike was “stolen” earlier this year… Later, I found out it had been towed because I chained it to a fence with a “no bikes” sign on it. Whoops! Here’s the original flyer: and here are the 300 million bikes I drew before I got the right one: So anyways, thanks so much to everyone that made this design …”

Yeah, so this made my “Tee of the Week” because it’s witty, it’s a simple design, and it’s something I’d very happily wear. In fact, Threadless is having a bit of a sale from 12:01am CT tomorrow (that’s US time, 27/11) until 11pm that evening - selected shirts are $9 all day, so gogogo. (But, please leave one of these for me :p).
Other notable mentions this week are:
-
Gav Strange’s latest design for Howies:

[clicky]
and McFaul’s also been having a go at a Howies shirt too:
[clicky]Apparently it would seem that Howies are doing a project with Bristol City Council to do with the “Better-by-Bike” city scheme that’s recently been put in place, hence the bike related tees.
Anyway, that’s it for this “Tee of the Week” post, folks. I shall endeavour to find more neat shirts for you to see for next time.
Bah for now

I think this is funny…not quite sure what it’s trying to say, but I think it’s funny all the same. Call me dumb. I don’t really care.

Big work task finished recently - we deployed our new website for the Viral Ad Network, Rubber Republic’s little brother site where we do Viral Marketing for Advertisers and Publishers.
The logo - an ice cream van, naturally - was lovingly designed by Gavin Strange (aka Jamfactory), and I was incredibly proud as punch to have some of my illustrations up alongside his work. A lot of the characters are based around things we do/have in the office. See if you can guess what some of the others might be :). Our designer, Dave, put them all together in this funky background and coloured them in. I shall be doing some of my own colourways of them at some point, so watch out for those.
If you are in need of any campaign marketing, come check out the Ad Network - we’re very good at what we do. Also, we offer paid placements for publishers, so if you’d like some shiny new content for your website, we do that too.

Birthday:
Had a little play around with the pen tool. I’ve been having Photoshop ‘Masterclasses’ at work with Dave (Usharkarus: www.flickr.com/people/16953114@N08/).
The background was a little messy, and whilst black is a bit boring, it’ll do for the purpose of this pic.Posted on November 24, 2009

Nice Kicks :
New kicks, new kicks!
‘Customised’ them a little with some fat pink laces. That way when I see boys walking around with the same shoes on, I can feel a little special and girly.
Cheers, Nan!Posted on November 24, 2009

The Droplet boys are ready for winter!:
Hehe yay! They’re all bundled up and ready for the cold weather.
Just waiting for a nice crisp sunny day to go out photosnapping in the leaves in all their gear.
(Apologies for the dusty surface - I hadn’t cleaned yet :p)

Market canopy b&w:
Went to Borough Market on the weekend (again). I love it there, for photo purposes and great food! Not so good about it being so crowded to try and walk around.
b&w of the big sign.Posted on November 24, 2009
