Little Wheel - The best design for an online game I've seen all year.
My job requires that I spend a lot of time online - so when I stumbled across this little game, I was intrigued. It looked dark, eerie: creepy even. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Despite it’s similarities to Burtonesque characters, Little Wheel is an adorable RPG that draws you into it’s sepia-toned world with an interesting backstory and engaging (despite his lack of dialogue) main character. Created by One Click Dog, the story follows a robot brought back online 10,000 (!) years after the power is shut down by an accident. As the player behind the little guy, it’s your job to restore power to the city and bring the robot citizens back to life again.
The design of the game, as I said earlier, looks - at first - quite dark, but that’s where the Tim Burton references stop. It’s essentially a point-and-click game, with some puzzle solving thrown in; whilst not the most difficult game ever, it’s enough to give you a bit of a challenge at first, and short enough that all the trial and error won’t get annoying. I also really like the upbeat jazz soundtrack that goes along with it.
If you haven’t played this yet, what are you waiting for?! Good job all round!

With the autumn winds come the Moose. Moosehunt challenges players to hunt the wild Moose as they make their autumn migration, take their picture and enter it into a competition judged by some of the worlds leading wildlife photographers.
You can hunt at any time after the hunting season opens on the 10th September, but on thursday you can join our Moose Safari to hunt Moose in the wilderness beyond Bristol’s city limits. We will bus you from the city centre out to a likely hunting area and our highly experienced guides will help you to track these magnificent beasts.
This is not a virtual game. Three “Moose” will be making the real journey on foot and sleeping out at night. You will really track them, so wear weather appropriate clothes and bring any tracking/ hunting equipment you may need.
Text ‘moose’ to 60300 to sign up for Moose Movements Alerts. We’ll let you know the moment they move.
See moosehunt.mobi for more information

Oh dear. Seriously, would you really do this? I mean, I suppose he thinks it’s normal, but…yeah. He’d be wrong.
Good thinking of whoever the woman was to send it to a radio station XD.
Cheers to @mynameisdelme for the linkage.

One of the cars in a drag race today. Listen to that engine! Also, you probably shouldn’t have you’re speakers on very loud. It’s a bit noisy. He topped well above 170mph on the drag strip
*Purrrrrrrr* love that sound ^_^. You can’t beat a growly engine like that.

Really like this song - I’m not normally a Tegan and Sara fan, but I like this Tiesto remix of the song. I think their style works a lot better as an indie/dance mix. I was shown it a while back by queen of all things hip and kool, Mojo-Jojo (Joanna Kiyone) and have loved it ever since. Think I’ll name it my song of the week.
I’ve had sort of a random week. Am feeling so tired after all that’s been going on - I’ve been doing some freelance work for Igfest 09 (go check it out!), so that’s been taking up my evenings, and I’m working full time at the minute as well. Now really looking forward to the weekend! I want some sleep please.
Also did something a little bit crazy and got a mohawk :D. Don’t worry, I’m not like completely bald on the sides or anything, but it is scarily short. The parents were suitably appauled, but despite being a bit unsure about it at first, I really like it ^_^. Besidses, hair grows back and it does look damn funky. Oh, did I mention it was purple? Thanks to my friend who did it for me XD you rock, man!
For those of you who actually read this, remember the phrase “Did Harry make Dave angry?”. I won’t tell you why just yet; all will become apparent very soon.
Relationships are very strange things. Somebody I’ve known for a little while now and I are embarking upon something and I have to be honest and say I don’t really know what that is just yet. I’d quite like it if it became something more. It’s difficult though, for reasons I can’t yet explain (just because I’m not sure if they read this and don’t want to hurt their feelings by blabbing off my mouth). It’s kind of exciting, so I’m just waiting to see what happens for the time being.
So yeah! How are you all? Hope you’re doing well…

Went to the No Gears BBQ and film night on Monday - it was a blast and we got to see the trailer for Gav Strange/Jamfactory and Johnny Clooney/Makinov’s fixed gear film, BÖIKZMÖIND. It’s made in association with their collective, Xynethtic, and will be out next year, but for the fixie heads amongst you who can’t wait that long, check out the trailer for yourselves :D
The mini-site is available here and you can download the trailer and some rockin wallpapers to go with it there.
Thought I’d show you my snaps from the evening - WARNING: bike porn is rife in the next few images:

The Architect (Will Ferrell)
Wildfire198: Heeheehee I love this XD I don’t even care that it takes the mick of one of my favourite movie franchises. Will Ferrell (in this instance) is high-larry-ous. Geddit?

Imagine if all athletes were treated like skateboarders…
A neat ad campaign from Nike that’s running at the minute. Check out the details from the NS Borg blog:
“Back before the minds that got behind Nike SB marketing to bring you Paul Rodriguez – Today was a good day commercial, we were introduced to the commercials featuring other sports/athletes getting treated with the same respect as skateboarders, in the “What if we treated all athletes the way we treated skateboarders?” campaign.”

Crappy Taxidermy is actually not crap...because it makes us laugh XD
Some people are very strange. I generally extend this to include people who stuff dead animals and keep them (with the exception of JD and Turk from Scrubs - Rowdy is a very neat pet). But it gets even weirder when people start to do stuff like this with them…
Oddly enough, I have a friend who told me randomly that he is into taxidermy. Thankfully he hasn’t stuffed any animals himself, he just likes the whole idea of it. That and skulls. Weird. I think I shall have to send him a link to this :p
Also, that reminds me: 45RPM got taxi-happy a while back. This cracked me up at the time…geddit?

Cyclists do your part - Change Your World!
Hey there guys,
I know a lot of you are determined cyclists and ride everywhere - particularly you fixie lot! - to work, to town: all over. So, I have a proposition for you: between the 29th June and 4th July, Sustrans are running a campaign to get people to ditch the car and take up walking, cycling or even taking public transport for one journey (or more, if you want). All you have to do is sign up.
It doesn’t matter if you were going to ‘bike it’ already, even if that’s the case, just sign your name to say that you’re doing it :D
To make this all a bit more interesting, it comes with a nifty game called Elejumper. The aim of the game is to help Ele to get to work by flapping his ears, rather than using his car. Think you can get all the way? http://snipurl.com/j9q8q-4040
Go play, go click the link and sign up, and let’s make this world a greener, cleaner place to live in.

I don’t drink myself (currently tee-total and plan on staying that way) but I like this video. It has a good message and I think it’s pretty relevant to people who do go out and [binge] drink. It also asks a valid question: if you wouldn’t do any of this when you’re sober and clear headed, which the people interviewed in the video clearly wouldn’t, then why do you want to do it when you’ve been out on the town.
If I’m going out, I like to remember what I did and also that I maintained some measure of class whilst I was out. But that’s just me. No judgement intended.
